Testo: Romani 12: 1-3 La prima impressione che suscita l’ascolto di questo testo è la considerazione che chi ha fede si sacrifica per essa; chi ha tanta fede, muore per essa. Ma deve essere sempre e solo così? Essere cristiani significa solo sofferenza, sacrificio, dolore? No, essere un sacrificio vivente, secondo le parole di Paolo, significa vivere pienamente per Dio e non annullarsi per Lui. E’ nella vita di ogni giorno che siamo chiamati a vivere per Lui, a guardare a Lui, con fiducia. Avere Dio presente nella nostra vita di ogni giorno è raggiungere il massimo della spiritualità, conta più dei ritiri spirituali, delle belle liturgie o dei culti solenni. Ma se è così semplice, perché è allora così difficile essere dei buoni cristiani? Perché siamo terribilmente attratti dal conformismo di questo mondo: la società, la vita, il mercato, i nostri bisogni immediati. E tutti ci dicono: non c'è bisogno che tu offra il tuo corpo a Dio, prestalo a noi, ne avrai maggior soddisfazione! Si, forse è più piacevole, ma dura? E quando scopri che il tuo corpo non dà solo piaceri, ma anche dispiaceri; non solo gioia, ma anche dolori; non "tutta vita", ma anche morte, di che cosa hai bisogno? Hai bisogno di un corpo e di una mente allenati a pensare a Dio, capaci di trovarlo nelle situazioni diverse dell'esistenza. Ma da dove partire? Anche qui Paolo ci dona una formula semplice, eppur difficile, da seguire: "ciascuno di voi non abbia di sé un concetto più alto di quello che deve avere". Per quanto grande e importante tu sia, o pensi di essere, non credere di poter bastare a te stesso, non sei autosufficiente. Allenati, ogni giorno, nella tua quotidianità, ad abbandonarti al Signore. Scoprirai che non sei solo, non sei abbandonato e avrai una Speranza eterna che nessuno può toglierti. Amen. Text: Romans 12: 1-3 The first impression that comes to mind listening to this text is the idea that when you have faith you sacrifice for it, if you have a lot of faith you even die for it. Bu are we sure it is just this way? To be Christians does it only mean suffering, sacrifice and pain? No, to be “ a living sacrifice”, according to the words of Paul, means to fully live for God, and not to disappear for God. Il is in everyday life that we are called to live for God, and to look at Him trusting Him. To be aware every day of the fact that God is present in our lives, this is real spirituality, without any need for special spiritual excercises or solemn church services. But if it is as simple as that, why then is it so hard to be a good Christian? This is because we live in a world, in a society, in a market economy in which all interest is in primary needs and in which we are told constantly, through words and action, that there is no reason to offer our body in sacrifice to God, tha if we offer it to them instead, we will gain much more satisfaction. And yes, maybe it is more confortable, but what happens when you realize that your body does not only offer joy and satisfaction, but also pain, not only life, but also death… so what do you need at that point? So you need a body and soul that are trained in thinking God, in being with Him so that you are able to still find him in any siuation of life. And where do we start from? Paul offers us here a very simple indication, simple but yet not always easy to put into practice: “I bid every one among you not to think of himsel more highly than he ought to think” No matter how great you are, how important you think you are, never think that you are auto-sufficient, that you are enough. Train every day, in your daily life, to really be with the Lord. Then you will undersatnd that you are not alone, you have not been abbandonated and you will have a special strenght and hope that no one can take away from you. Amen. |
